What does paid family leave cost across your states?

Enter payroll per state. 2026 rates for all 14 US jurisdictions that run a paid leave program, with the employer and employee share of each.

Everything is calculated in your browser. No sign-in, no email, and none of your payroll data leaves this page.

Estimates only. Confirm current rates with your state agency before filing or budgeting.

How each state’s program works

All 14 records were last swept on August 18, 2026. Each state page shows the date and the agency source for its own figures. See how these rates are sourced.

Why a separate calculator

There is no federal program

Fourteen jurisdictions each run their own scheme, with their own rate, split, wage cap and small-employer exemption. Nothing at the federal level ties them together.

Each agency covers only itself

Every state publishes a calculator for its own program. An employer with staff in four states runs four tools and adds the results up by hand.

The rules do not match

District of Columbia is employer-funded, New York is employee-funded, Washington splits 28.57/71.43. Small-employer headcount is national in some states and in-state in others. Those details are where the errors live.
