2026 PFML Rate Changes by State
Every US paid family leave contribution rate, and the date each one next moves. Sorted so whatever changes soonest is at the top. Four jurisdictions reset partway through the year, which is the detail a January-only calendar misses.

Rates change on different dates in different states, and several move mid-year. Pick the ones you care about and we will tell you when they move.
What changed for 2026
Only where the agency itself stated the previous figure. We do not reconstruct a change by comparing a current number against one we happened to record earlier — that would be a claim about history rather than a quotation of one.

2027 rates
Most 2027 figures have not been announced yet. A few have: Maryland begins collecting, Massachusetts restructures under Chapter 101, and Washington, Delaware and Minnesota have each published something already.

Common questions
- When do PFML rates change?
- Most states change contribution rates on 1 January with the new plan year, but benefit figures are a different matter. Colorado and Rhode Island reset on 1 July, Oregon in late June, and the District of Columbia adjusts its maximum weekly benefit every 1 October. A calendar built around January alone will be wrong for part of every year.
- Which state changes next?
- The table on this page is sorted by next reset date, so whichever changes soonest is at the top. Anything within 60 days is highlighted.
- How do you know a rate is current?
- Every figure carries the date somebody last opened the agency page and read it, plus a link to that page. We check on three annual checkpoints — late June, late September and November — because those are when figures actually move. If an agency page disagrees with us, the agency is right and we want to hear about it.
- Have 2027 rates been announced?
- Only in part. Maryland has confirmed 0.9% from January 2027, Minnesota has held 0.88% for 2027, Delaware has fixed its maximum benefit at $900, and Washington has published a $1,727 maximum weekly benefit. Everything else is unannounced. Our 2027 page lists what is known and what is not, without estimating the gaps.
